Correlation of level of TNF -α with severity of Diabetic Polyneuropathy in Type-2 Diabetes Mellitus
نویسندگان
چکیده
Diabetic poly neuropathy (DPN) is the most common chronic complication of type 2 diabetes. Aim of this observational cross sectional study is to establish correlation between level of TNF α and severity of DPN if any. The forty seven subjects were divided into three groups. Group1:15 healthy normal controls; Group2:12 T2DM patients without neuropathy controls; Group3:20 T2DM patients with painful neuropathy case. To measure TNF-α 5ml blood was drawn and centrifuged and then TNF-α measurement was done with Ray Bio Human TNF-α ELISA kit. Plasma TNF-α shows high correlation with progress of neuropathy; In early phases of diabetes (group2) TNF-α shows a tendency to rise, which increases further with development of overt painful neuropathy (group3).

Association of Inflammatory Mediators with Coronary Artery Disease in Diabetic Patients
Background and Objectives: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is regarded as the leading cause of morbidity and mortality around the world. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with the development of CAD and increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The goal of this study was to assess the association of tumor necrosis factorα (TNF-α) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) with CAD severi...
متن کاملINVESTIGATION OF METHYLATION OF TNF-Α GENE PROMOTER IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES
Background: Type II diabetes is a chronic inflammatory condition that is associated with a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Tumor necrosis factor alpha or TNF-α as an adipocyte cytokine, which affects the signaling pathway of insulin, can contribute to insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes patients. Considering the importance of epigenetic changes in multifactorial diseases, th...
متن کاملRole of inflammatory mediators (TNF-α, IL-6, CRP), biochemical and hematological parameters in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients of Kashmir, India
Background: Type II Diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a multifactorial disease and a leading cause of premature deaths. Inflammatory cytokines are reported that they have potential to enhance insulin resistance and hence T2DM. Assessment of immunological profile in T2DM patients of Kashmir valley is unclear. So, detection of cytokines is relevant to determine the extent and direction of immune respon...
متن کاملEffect of sitagliptin on serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Introduction: Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is an inflammatory disease with alterations in immune system. Remarkably, cytokine imbalance plays an important role in pathogenesis of T2DM. The purpose of this study was to determine the serum levels of TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-10 and the effects of sitagliptin on the level of these cytokines in patients with T2DM. Materials and Methods: Blood samples ...
متن کاملCompare of Two Aerobic Training Methods on SOD and TNF-α levels in the Heart Tissue of Type 2 Diabetic Rats
The purpose of this study was to compare two methods of aerobic exercise on the levels of SOD and TNF-α in the heart tissue of diabetic rats. 40 male Wistar rats aged ten weeks were randomly divided into four groups of 10: healthy control, diabetes, diabetes+MIT and diabetes+HIT. The moderate intensity training group ran 5 sessions per week for 8 weeks on the treadmill for 60 minutes at a speed...
